Imagine walking into a store where the salesperson immediately comes up to your face, follows you around and says, ā€œYouā€™d look SO good in this, here’s why you should buy it < insert a list of compliments to groom you and make you feel you owe her for being kind>, please buy it?ā€.
Youā€™d probably back away slowly, right? Well, personally, I’d immediately leave the store and never return!

Thatā€™s how chasing leads feels on the receiving end. It’s obvious the sales person is desperate for a saleā€¦

Your energy and messaging should be magnetic and confident, not frantic and definitely NOT desperate!

People are drawn to experts who own their authority. Not to those who scream ā€œPick me! Pick me!ā€ in the online void, trying to prove their worth.

So, step one: stop treating every potential lead like your last hope for success. Youā€™re the prize. Act like it.

Since you’re reading this, I know it’s because the strategies you’ve been using or studying haven’t been matching your values. And I get it… I’ve been through that.

I invested in myself and my business through coaches who sold themselves as experts, only to realise (once I had joined and paid thousands) that their methods were not at all aligned with my vision of marketing, sales and even business!

If your messaging is vague, like ā€œI help people grow their businessā€, you won’t stop the scroll.

Your conversion rate will be low, you’ll need more marketing efforts… And I’m sure you’d rather avoid going back and forth in the DMs explaining why you’re the one who can help.

You’d rather post and trust that your messaging will get you aligned leads who are likely to become your clients.

Because the truth is that your dream clients need to feel like youā€™re speaking directly to them.

So, ask yourself:

  • Who is my dream client, really? (Not just demographics and their favorite brand of cerealsā€¦ but more what are their struggles, desires and deal-breakers?)
  • Whatā€™s keeping them up at night?
  • Why would they choose me over someone else?

Clarity attracts. Vagueness repels. The more specific your messaging, the more your dream clients will think, ā€œWow, this is EXACTLY what I need!ā€šŸ˜

They’ve probably looked on Google and tried these already at the beginning of their journey.
1) they don’t need simple “3 tips how to XYZ”.
And

  • Create content that shifts perspectives (it’s still educational but not in the vanilla way we’ve all been taught!)

Let’s be real hereā€¦ Your content should be doing the heavy lifting, bringing in leads while you sip your favorite drinkšŸ˜‰. But that wonā€™t happen if your content is all over the place.

Side note: when I first started my business in 2016, I knew that attracting clients through content only was possibleā€¦ Some coaches whom I thought knew better (erhmā€¦) told me it wasn’t possible. Wellā€¦ let me tell you that if anyone says it’s not possible, they’re just projecting their limiting beliefs onto you! Reject those beliefs right off the bat! End of side noteā€¦

To create client-attracting content, you need to focus on:

  • Solving real problems (not just sharing fluff)
  • Speaking to decision-making ready-to-buy leads, not just lurkers or freebie seekersā€¦

Quality over quantity. One powerful piece of content is better than 100 forgettable posts, because the right words do the selling for you.

Oh and while we’re here, let’s bust another cringy myth… More content = more followers = more clientsā€¦šŸ™…šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø
This couldn’t be further away from the truth!

If your content isn’t specific, clear or showing your authority:

  • you might have more followers if you post more… (And I’m pretty sure you’re not too excited about that idea)
  • you might get more likes…

But last time I checked, likes don’t pay the bills! And not all followers turn into clients if you’re not targeting your ideal leads and if your content is genericā€¦

Turn your words into cash - create a high-converting message that sells

Your offer isnā€™t the problemā€¦ your messaging is!

Before you run away and create a new offer at a lower price because your current one isn’t attracting as many clients as you thought it would, pause!

I bet your offer itself is not the problem – it rarely is. And your pricing is not the issue eitherā€¦

I can guarantee it’s your messaging! Because anything can sell (ever heard of people selling their old dirty socks and making a lot of money? Yeahā€¦ I knowā€¦ if that kind of foolishness can sell, your offer definitely can!ā£ļøāœ…)

So here’s the thing: you can attract all the leads in the world, but if they donā€™t see the value of your offer, they wonā€™t buy.

  • Your offer speaks to an urgent need.

Last but not least: stop relying on the hustle! Like chasing the next social media trends to please an algorithm that changes as often as the weather in Northern France (and that’s saying somethingā€¦).

Chasing trends or the next strategy is a rabbit hole, been there, done that. So I’m here to save you time!

Instead, you need to set up a system that brings in leads consistently, even when you’re off living your life and taking a walk in the park at 2h:0pm.

This could be:

  • An email funnel that nurtures and sells
  • Referral strategies that bring in pre-sold clients
  • Using Pinterest for evergreen visibility
  • And yes, you can still use social media, but in your own terms (like I do)!

No follow-unfollow games, no spending hours engaging under people’s posts just for the sake of popularity (unless I genuinely want to and mean it).

Each piece of content you post should work for you and focus on speaking to your ideal client’s desire and solving their painful problem.

The golden rule here is to follow your own rules. Stop comparing yourself to others or doubting your strategy.
